I’m Lucy — I grew up on a farm in rural Australia. As a kid I would tear through craft books, I built treehouses, sewed my own clothes, and splashed paint all over the place. I moved to Sydney for high school and continued with painting and fashion design.

I studied a Bachelor of Design at UNSW’s College of Fine Arts. I majored in Graphics & Media, and my honors thesis explored the impact of idealized imagery in women’s advertising on women’s health.

After graduating I joined Coco Republic as their marketing designer and lead stylist. In 2015 I moved to New York and joined Hinge. I learnt how to design and develop mobile products, and experienced what it’s like to really love my work. I helped Hinge pivot away from the swiping interface, we introduced innovations like prompts and the liking/commenting UX. I then built out and led the design team.

In 2019 I left Hinge to take some time off to travel and recharge. I’m currently consulting at a few early-stage start-ups, and I'm a fellow in the current On Deck cohort. I love a novel idea and an unsolved problem.

I host pop-up dinners for singles in my apartment, and I put together communities of singles on WhatsApp. I love hosting fundraiser parties, craft workshops, yoga classes, and other strange get togethers.

I'm a visual thinker (duh), a community seeker, and a life-long builder. Reach out, I love new friends : )
